Compensation and Social Services after Exoneration
Compensation cannot fix the harm and pain an innocent person had to endure for decades at times. Compensation is not granted automatically, and social services...?

False Confessions
Sometimes, the suspect wants to protect someone else. But sometimes, there are physically or psychologically coerced plea bargains by the prosecutor's piling on of charges that would result in a much longer sentence or even the death penalty.

(Junk) Science & Destroyed Evidence
Junk science plays a bigger role in wrongful convictions than we might believe. Exculpatory evidence is often withheld or even destroyed, although the Courts order otherwise. => See "Immunity"!

Jurors - the Role of the Jury
Jurors only can consider what they observe and hear in the court room. When exculpatory evidence is withheld from jurors, man-made justice fails. Jurors are human, untrained and often laymen. They make mistakes.

Immunity of Judges, Prosecutors and Law Enforcement
a status on a person or body that places him/her/it above the law and makes that person or body free from otherwise legal obligations such as, for example, liability for torts or damages or prosecution under criminal law for criminal acts. There are various types of immunity, such as judicial immunity, prosecutorial immunity, official immunity, legislative immunity, parliamentary immunity, diplomatic immunity and sovereign immunity.

Importance of Correct Investigation
The exclusion of the right suspect can be a fatal error. When crucial evidence disappears, is destroyed, ignored or withheld from the defense, justice cannot be served.

Mistaken Eyewitness Identification
People often describe having seen what they expected to see, rather than what they actually saw. When witnesses have experienced trauma, such as being victims in a crime, they generally perceive the perpetrator to be taller and bulkier than he or she actually is. Without the traumatic situtation present, most people will take little note of the facial characteristics of someone presenting himself for something as ordinary as directions.

Snitches/ Informants, Perjury, Misconduct & Corruption
"Snitches" are those in jail and prison, who sell you out. "Snitches"/ Informants/ Co-defendants (state witnesses) are allowed to testify in court and make "deals" with the prosecutor. Can deals serve justice, or is it just about convicting anybody?

Unethical Reporters
Unethical news reporters who deliberately only tell half of the "story", put pressure on the state to prosecute, convict and sometimes execute someone.

Experts & Professionals

Drug War
Is the drug war a homemade problem? What would happen, if "drugs" were legalized? Why are addicts attracted to drugs? What sense does it make to prohibite drugs? Are drug addicts crying for help? Why are they put in prison? What about proper rehabilitation? Do the government and the pharmaceutical industry benefit from this drug war?
